Anne Wieben Anne Wieben (mezzo-soprano) was born and raised in the United States. She attended the University of Minnesota before moving to Vienna in 2004. She currently studies privately with Paulette Herbich and is also pursuing a master’s degree in Opera Performance at the Konservatorium Wien.

 

Ms.Wieben’s stage experience includes the roles Niklausse in Les Contes d'Hoffman (Theater Akzent, Wien), Vittoria in The Gondoliers (Kammeroper, Wien), Marcellina in Le Nozze di Figaro (Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst, Wien), Miss Todd in The Old Maid and the Thief (Konservatorium Wien), Dritte Dame in Die Zauberflöte (International Education of Students Theater Festival, London), and Florence in Albert Herring (University of Minnesota Opera Theater, Minneapolis). On the concert stage, she has sung the Composer in Ariadne auf Naxos, Maddelena in Rigoletto, Dorabella in Cosi fan Tutte, Zweite Dame in Die Zauberflöte, Flosshilde in Das Rheingold and also as mezzo soloist in Faures Requiem and Saint-Saens Christmas Oratorio.

 

In September 2007, Ms.Wieben toured through Japan as a chorus member in a production of La Traviata. She will sing the role of Dorabella in May, 2008 at the Odeon Theater in Vienna.
