Soprano Anne Wieben has been described as possessing "a beautiful, large, and marvelously placed voice", and as "a name to be noted" (Ruch Muzyczne Nr. 16, 3. August 2008). She was born and raised in the United States and attended the University of Minnesota and the Konservatorium Wien. In summer 2011 Ms.Wieben gave her role debut as Donna Anna in the well received Don Giovanni production at the Pasinger Fabrik, Munich. Previous stage experience includes the roles Avril in Love Counts (Metro Kino, Vienna), Dorabella in Così fan tutte (Odeon Theater, Vienna), Niklausse in Les Contes d'Hoffman (Theater Akzent, Vienna), Frau Madaldrut in Siegfried Wagner's Der Schmied von Marienburg (Gdansk Philharmonic, Poland) and Vittoria in The Gondoliers (Kammeroper, Vienna). On the concert stage she has sung Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte, Contessa Almaviva in Le Nozze di Figaro, Agathe in Der Freischütz, the Composer in Ariadne auf Naxos, Elsa in Lohengrin, Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni, Ellen Orford in Peter Grimes and Elisabeth in Don Carlos. Ms. Wieben currently lives in Vienna, Austria. |
