Anne Wieben was born and raised in the United States. She attended the University of Minnesota and the Konservatorium Wien. Ms.Wieben's stage experience includes the roles Dorabella in Cosi fan Tutte (Odeon Theater, Vienna). Niklausse in Les Contes d'Hoffman (Theater Akzent, Vienna), Frau Madaldrut in Siegfried Wagner's Der Schmied von Marienburg (Gdansk Philharmonic, Poland), Vittoria in The Gondoliers (Kammeroper, Wien), Marcellina in Le Nozze di Figaro (Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst, Wien), Miss Todd in The Old Maid and the Thief (Konservatorium Wien), Dritte Dame in Die Zauberflöte (International Education of Students Theater Festival, London), and Florence in Albert Herring (University of Minnesota Opera Theater, Minneapolis). On the concert stage, she has sung the Composer in Ariadne auf Naxos, Maddelena in Rigoletto, Zweite Dame in Die Zauberflöte, Flosshilde in Das Rheingold and also as mezzo-soprano soloist in Faures Requiem and Saint-Saens Christmas Oratorio. This young American singer has been described as possessing „a beautiful, large, and marvelously placed voice, worthy of the Bayreuth stage", and as „a name to be noted" (Ruch Muzyczne Nr. 16, 3. August 2008). She currently lives in Vienna, Austria. |
